Ground Zero

Plans for a Muslim Mosque two blocks north of the former site of the Twin Towers that were destroyed by Islamic extremists on 9/11/01 have stirred up a hornets' nest of controversy as one might expect. U.S. Constitution purists say the Muslims in NYC have the right to build the mosque under the First Amendment. Others say they should be denied the right to build so close to "9/11 Ground Zero" and still more lie somewhere in between in their beliefs and they should be permitted to build some place else in the city. Personally, I don't like the idea of the mosque going up that close to the scene of what the Islamist extremist-led attack did there. I wish they would simply decide to go elsewhere. But...

Constitutionalism

We are in a struggle like none other in the nation's history and it is centered on the Constitution. Either we believe in that founding document or we do not. We cannot have it both ways. Those involved with the Tea Party Movement cite the Constitution as the basis for the very movement itself. That being the case, how effective is the movement if we trash that instrument ? And opponents of the movement know that as do the Muslim extremists. We who support the Tea Party Movement have no other choice but to accept the mosque being built wherever the City of New York allows. In the process, we must let the rest of the World know and understand that in no uncertain terms.

Restoring Honor

Glen Beck's "Restoring Honor" event at the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 2010 may go down in history along side Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I've Got a Dream" speech for its impact on the future of the country. King became the central force of the civil rights movement and remains a force even now more than four decades following his asassination in Memphis. Beck will likely be seen by historians as a leading force that brought us back to what the founders had in mind in declaring independence from the British Crown and in the creation of the United States of America.

Mid-Term Elections

Everything is now pointing to a devastating defeat of the Democrats and a few like-thinking incombent Republicans in the upcoming elections in November. It could mean a Republican controlled House and possibly the same in the Senate. In any case, it will mean trouble for the Obama agenda and, hopefully, an end to the nation's march toward becoming a Marxist state.
